Description: Chemokines are a group of small (approximately 8 to 14 kD), mostly basic, structurally related molecules that regulate cell trafficking of various types of leukocytes through interactions with a subset of 7-transmembrane, G protein-coupled receptors. Chemokines also play fundamental roles in the development, homeostasis, and function of the immune system, and they have effects on cells of the central nervous system as well as on endothelial cells involved in angiogenesis or angiostasis. Chemokines are divided into 2 major subfamilies, CXC and CC, based on the arrangement of the first 2 of the 4 conserved cysteine residues; the 2 cysteines are separated by a single amino acid in CXC chemokines and are adjacent in CC chemokines. CXC chemokines are further subdivided into ELR and non-ELR types based on the presence or absence of a glu-leu-arg sequence adjacent and N terminal to the CXC motif.Chemokines are a group of small (approximately 8 to 14 kD), mostly basic, structurally related molecules that regulate cell trafficking of various types of leukocytes through interactions with a subset of 7-transmembrane, G protein-coupled receptors. Description: All three isoforms of GRO are CXC chemokines that can signal through the CXCR1 or CXCR2 receptors. The GRO proteins chemoattract and activate neutrophils and basophils. GRO/MGSA also stimulates mitogenesis in certain human melanoma cells. Recombinant Human GRO-α/MGSA (CXCL1) is a 7.8 kDa protein consisting of 73 amino acids, including the 'ELR' motif common to the CXC chemokine family that binds to CXCR1 or CXCR2.

Description: ENA-78 is a CXC chemokine that signals through the CXCR2 receptor. It is expressed in monocytes, platelets, endothelial cells, and mast cells. ENA-78 is a chemoattractant for neutrophils. Three N-terminal truncated variants of human ENA-78; ENA 5-78, ENA 8-78, ENA 9-78, contain 74, 71, and 70 amino acid residues, respectively, possess increased biological activity. ENA-78 contains the four conserved cysteine residues present in CXC chemokines, and also contains the ‘ELR’ motif common to CXC chemokine that bind to the CXCR1 and CXCR2 receptors. Recombinant Human ENA-78 (CXCL5) is a 7.8 kDa protein consisting of 71 amino acid residues.

Description: CXCL6, also known as LIX in mice, is a CXC chemokine that signals through the CXCR2 receptor. It is expressed in monocytes, platelets, endothelial cells, and mast cells. LIX is a chemoattractant for neutrophils. The two naturally occurring variants of LIX, LIX 1-78 (GCP-2) and LIX 9-78 (GCP-2), contain 78 and 70 amino acid residues, respectively. LIX contains the four conserved cysteine residues present in CXC chemokines, and also contains the ‘ELR’ motif common to CXC chemokines that binds to the CXCR1 and CXCR2 receptors. Recombinant Murine LIX (CXCL6) is a 9.8 kDa protein containing 92 amino acid residues.

Description: Mouse C-X-C motif chemokine 15, also known as Cxcl15, is a secreted protein which is member of the ELR motif-containing CXC chemokines. It expressed at low levels in fetal lung, the expression restricted to the lung, produced by bronchoepithelial cells and is released into the airways. It plays an important role in lung-specific neutrophil trafficking during normal and inflammatory conditions. It also appears chemotactic for neutrophils.

Description: Human Chemokine (C-X-C motif) Ligand 7 (CXCL7), also known as neutrophil activating peptide 2 (NAP-2), is a member of the CXC chemokines containing an ELR domain (Glu-Leu-Arg tripeptide motif). Similar to other ELR domain containing CXC chemokines, such as IL-8 and the GRO proteins, CXCL7 binds CXCR2, chemoattracts and activates neutrophils. CXCL7, Connective Tissue Activating Protein III (CTAPIII) and beta thrombogulin ( beta TG), are proteolytically processed carboxylterminal fragments of platelet basic protein (PBP) which is found in the alphagranules of human platelets. Although CTAPIII, beta TG, and PBP represent amino-terminal extended variants of NAP2 and possess the same CXC chemokine domains, these proteins do not exhibit CXCL7/NAP2 activity. CXCL7 induces cell migration through the G-protein-linked receptor CXCR-2.
