Description: Beta-Casomorphin-7 is a milk opioid peptide derived from fragment 60-66 of bovine beta-Casein. It strongly stimulates mucin secretion in the rat jejunum through a nervous pathway and mu-opioid receptor activation. The presence of the Tyr-Pro aromatic sequence makes the peptide selective for the mu receptor while the high contents of proline residues in the sequence makes the peptide resistant to degradation by gastrointestinal enzymes.

Description: Sulfamethazine is an antibiotic used to clinically treat bronchitis, prostatitis and urinary tract infections. It is used in disposition and depletion kinetic studies. It is used to develop detection techniques for quantification in fluids such as cows’ milk, honey and swine urine.
Sulfamethazine is an antimicrobial sulfur drug that blocks the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid by inhibiting the enzyme dihydropteroate synthase. Sulfamethazine is a competitive inhibitor of bacterial para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), which is required for bacterial synthesis of folic acid. It induces CYP3A4 expression and is acetylated by N-acetyltransferase. It exhibits sex dependent pharmacokinetics, metabolized by the male specific isoform CYP2C11. Sulfamethazine is bacteriostatic.

Description:
Immunoglobulin gamma (IgG) is the most common class of antibody in blood and extracellular fluid. Approximately 75% of serum antibodies in humans are IgG. There are four immunoglobulin gamma subclasses: one, two, three and four. IgG1 is the most common, with 68% of all gamma class antibodies being G1, and G4 is the least common at 4%. Gamma class antibodies are found primarily in the secondary immune response, class switching from IgM and IgD. They are the only class of antibody that can cross the placenta, and along with IgA secreted in breast milk, provide the neonate with humoral immunity before immune system development occurs.
This antibody recognizes a protein of 75kDa identified as the gamma heavy chain of human immunoglobulins. It does not cross-react with alpha, mu, epsilon, or delta heavy chains, T-cells, monocytes, granulocytes, or erythrocytes. The IgG antibody is useful in the identification of leukemias, plasmacytomas, and certain non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. The most common feature of these malignancies is the restricted expression of a single heavy chain class. Demonstration of clonality in lymphoid infiltrates indicates that the infiltrate is clonal and therefore malignant.

Description: Lauric Acid, Reagent, also known as dodecanoic acid, is a medium chain fatty acid that has a vague smell of soap and is a powder. It is found naturally in human breast milk as well as cow's and goat's milk. It is generally used to produce cosmetic products but is also used in the laboratory to obtain the molar mass of substances. Its reagent grade means this is the highest quality commercially available for this chemical and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.

Description: Nisin is a polypeptide (34 residues) antibiotic structurally similar to subtilin but containing no tryptophan; a member of the lantibiotic family. Reduces the thermal resistance of bacterial spores in milk-based beverages. The C-terminus of nisin is responsible for the initial interaction of nisin, binding to the target membrane. Active against Gram-positive bacteria at the cytoplasmic membrane.

D-Biotin is a growth factor present in small amounts in every living cell. It is involved in naturally occurring carboxylation reactions. It occurs mainly bound to proteins or polypeptides. It is more abundant in the liver, kidney, pancreas, yeast and milk. Biotin levels are higher in cancerous tumors than in normal tissues. It is inactivated by binding to avidin.
D-Biotin may be used to elute proteins from avidin/streptavidin resins. It is widely used for dietary supplements and fortified foods. It is also used for tablets and hard-shell capsule preparation due to its pharmaceutical properties.
Essential vitamin that is important for amino acid and energy metabolism, and fatty acid synthesis. It is a prosthetic group in four mammalian carboxylase families and facilitates the binding and transfer of carbon dioxide.
Soluble in water (22 mg/100 mL), ethanol (80 mg/100 mL), more soluble in hot water and in dilute alkalies; insoluble in other common organic solvents. Soluble in 2 M Ammonium hydroxide (50 mg/mL - clear, colorless solution), dimethylformamide (1.7 mg/mL).
