Supplier: Bachem Americas
Description: Like orexin A, orexin B (OXB) is a hypothalamic neuropeptide regulating the feeding behavior. Central administration of OXB to rats stimulated food consumption in a similar manner to orexin A, but the effect did not last as long as that of orexin A. The affinity of orexin B for the OX₁ receptor is significantly lower (IC₅₀ = 240 nM) than that of orexin A. Binding affinities for the OX₂ receptor are similar for orexin A and B (IC₅₀ = 38 nM and 36 nM, respectively, for displacement of radiolabeled orexin A bound to the receptor).

Supplier: AFG BIOSCIENCE LLC
Description: Rat Orexin(Orexin) ELISA Kit

Catalog Number: (10320-926)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: This gene encodes a hypothalamic neuropeptide precursor protein that gives rise to two mature neuropeptides, orexin A and orexin B, by proteolytic processing. Orexin A and orexin B, which bind to orphan G-protein coupled receptors HCRTR1 and HCRTR2, function in the regulation of sleep and arousal. This neuropeptide arrangement may also play a role in feeding behavior, metabolism, and homeostasis.

Catalog Number: (89283-804)
Supplier: Genetex
Description: Chicken polyclonal antibody to Orexin B

Catalog Number: (10246-138)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: The protein encoded by this gene is a G-protein coupled receptor involved in the regulation of feeding behavior. The encoded protein binds the hypothalamic neuropeptides orexin A and orexin B. A related gene (HCRTR1) encodes a G-protein coupled receptor that selectively binds orexin A. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2009]

Description: OREXIN B (MOUSE, RAT), 1mg CAS: 202801-92-1 C126H215N45O34S FW: 2936.44. Synonym: Hypocretin-2 (mouse, rat)

Catalog Number: (76715-870)
Supplier: AFG BIOSCIENCE LLC
Description: Mouse Orexin A ELISA Kit

Supplier: Bachem Americas
Description: Orexin A (OXA, hypocretin-1) is a hypothalamic neuropeptide regulating the feeding behavior. Central administration of orexin A to rats stimulated food consumption in a dose-dependent manner. The effect persisted at 4 h after injection, as orexin A seems to be resistant to peptidases. Orexin A specifically binds a G protein-coupled receptor, OX₁R (IC₅₀ = 20 nM to displace 50 % of radiolabeled orexin A bound to this receptor). Orexin A produced in the amygdala induces wakefulness and plays a role in the induction of human emotions. Narcolepsy has been associated with orexin deficiency. H-4172 also corresponds to bovine, canine, ovine, and porcine orexin A.
