Catalog Number: (10670-654)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: Luciferase from the firefly has become one of the more widely used reporter proteins for the study of gene expression. Luciferase catalyzes a bioluminescent reaction which requires the substrate luciferin as well as Mg2+ and ATP. Mixing these reagents with the cell extract containing luciferase, results in a flash of light that decays rapidly. This light can be detected by a luminometer. The total light emission is proportional to the luciferase activity of the sample.

Description: Mutations in Rae1 and Gle2(Saccharomyces cerevisae homolog) genes have been shown to result in accumulation of poly(A)-containing mRNA in the nucleus, suggesting that the encoded proteins are involved in RNA export. It contains four WD40 motifs, and has been shown to localize to distinct foci in the nucleoplasm, to the nuclear rim, and to meshwork-like structures throughout the cytoplasm. This gene is thought to be involved in nucleocytoplasmic transport, and in directly or indirectly attaching cytoplasmic mRNPs to the cytoskeleton. Depletion of Rae1 from extracts or cells severely inhibits mitotic spindle assembly. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.

Supplier: Biosensis
Description: Biosensis is proud to offer the first commercially available ApoE/β-amyloid (ApoE/Aβ) complex ELISA kit. As a result of extensive collaboration with Dr. LaDu’s laboratory at UIC and validation by Biosensis, this ELISA can be used to accurately and consistently measure the extent of ApoE/Aβ complex in tissue extracts and other samples.

Supplier: Invitrogen
Description: Thermo Scientific Halt Protease Inhibitor Cocktail (100X) are ready-to-use concentrated stock solutions of protease inhibitors for addition to samples to prevent proteolytic degradation during cell lysis and protein extraction from animal and plant tissues, cultured cells,
yeast or bacteria.
Catalog Number: (RL600-401-470)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: This affinity purified antibody has been tested for use in ELISA, immunochemistry and western blot.  For western blotting HeLa whole cell lysates and nuclear extracts are suggested.  Reactivity in other immunoassays is unknown.

Supplier: Biosensis
Description: The Mature BDNF RapidTM ELISA Kit is a sandwich ELISA that allows the quantification of mature BDNF in less than 3 hours in cell culture supernatants, serum, plasma (citrate and EDTA), pig serum, cell lysates, brain extracts, human milk and sheep CSF only if used as directed, with a simplified protocol and no loss of sensitivity or specificity.

Description: CDK5 (Cyclin Dependent Kinase 5) is serine/threonine kinase involved in synaptic regulation and neuronal development; phosphorylates synaptic protein Pctaire1; regulates acetylcholine receptor expression. CDK5 is a member of the cyclindependent kinase family of serine/threonine kinases. It is present in numerous mammalian tissues including kidney, testes, and ovary. Its activity is detected almost exclusively in brain extracts. Neuronal and muscle cells contain the highest amount of this protein. Similar to other Cdks, monomeric Cdk5 displays no enzymatic activity, but Cdk5 is not activated by cyclins. Instead, the p35 protein, which is expressed solely in the brain, activates Cdk5. Cdk5 interacts with D1 and D3 type G1 cyclins and can phosphorylate histone H1, TAU, MAP2 and NF-H and NF-M. Cdk5 activity is involved in terminal differentiation of neurons and muscle cells.
