Phloroglucinol, Hydrate, Reagent is an organic compound phenol derivative with antispasmodic properties. It is used as a coupling agent, linking diazo dyes to give a fast black. In cosmetic and personal care product formulations, it is used for its colorant and antioxidant properties. It appears as a white to yellowish, odorless, crystalline powder. It is partially soluble in cold water. Its reagent grade means this is the highest quality commercially available for this chemical and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
