Amyl Acetate, Reagent, with an odor similar to bananas and apples, is often used as a flavoring agent. It can also be used as a solvent and as part of the preparation of penicillin. Its reagent grade means this is the highest quality commercially available for this chemical and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
