Acetic Acid, Glacial, Reagent, ACS, also known under the name ethanoic acid, it is an organic compound and a colorless liquid. It has a distinctive sour taste and pungent smell. It is the main component of Vinegar after water (8% by volume). Classified as a weak Acid, when concentrated it is corrosive and can attack the skin. In its Glacial form (undiluted), it is used as a polar protic solvent. As a solvent it is used for purification by recrystallization of organic compounds and in the production of terephtalic acid. As an ACS grade Reagent, Spectrum Chemical manufactured Acetic Acid is used as the quality standard against which other substances are graded and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and purity
