Cerium(III) acetate sesquihydrate, acts as a source of cerium involved in the preparation of cerium oxide. It finds application in metallurgy, glass and glass polishing, ceramics, catalysts, and in phosphors. It is utilized in steel production to remove the free sulfur and oxygen. Further, it is an efficient glass polishing agent.
