Pierce™ PEGylated SMCC Heterobifunctional Crosslinkers, Thermo Scientific
Supplier: LIFE TECHNOLOGIES MS
Cross linkers are used for the identification of near-neighbor protein relationships and ligand-receptor interactions.
Heterobifunctional cross linkers have two different reactive ends and are used in two step sequential reactions, where the least labile reactive end is reacted first. Heterobifunctional agents allow more controlled two step reactions, which minimizes undesirable intramolecular cross-reaction and polymerization. The most widely used heterobifunctional cross linking agents are used to couple proteins through amine and sulfhydryl groups.
Thermo Scientific Pierce SM(PEG)n is a series of amine-to-sulfhydryl crosslinkers that differ in length from 17.6 to 95.2 angstroms as a result of polyethylene glycol spacer arms containing n equals 2 to 24 ethylene glycol units.
